hey guys i need to get these sketches up here so I could get some crits on them before I move forward with transferring them to the final surface- it will be acrylic and color pencil. This is going to be a christmas gift for my dad who loves the movie Catch me if you can with Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks- the posters for this movie were bland, and considering it was Spielberg, and spielberg uses Struzan..or did at least, I wanted to do something Struzan-esque. Along with doing it that way, traditionally, I wanted to do something that was 1960's inspired, so I have been gathering reference

one of my favorite movies as well, loving the direction of these so far...I think if you are going to use a plane then maybe have it angled up, like its taking off? I feel like that would add more energy to the piece. pumped to see the final product, ill post more thoughts when they come, the plane thing was what just initially stuck out...really love the bottom ones inclusion of leo with the flight attendants, such an iconic shot from the movie
ReplyDeleteThanks Justin! Love the ideas, see this is why i love having people look at my work and give me crits- you give me idea's I didn't even think about- I did just realize how bad the first sketch looks, super dark, and the detail is screwy, I might have to re-upload it-
